true true. itβs very sad. I know for me at least, when I was younger (like below 12 years old I would say) I was always so proud and happy to be a girl. but now, even though I am happy with myself most of the time, itβs a lot harder and there are so many standards to live up to. especially like you said with the makeup and always feeling like I have to look a certain way.
and, it seems like a lot of women and girls get criticized for talking about these issues because (limit)
we need to be βgratefulβ for how much better the situation is now than in the past. which is true for sure, but itβs still not enough.
That being said though I am very grateful for my life and all the amazing people I know <3
im so glad u made a post ab this
this is so true! this kinda stuff is everywhere and every girl experiences something like this. personally, iβve struggled a lot with body image bc im a dancer and constantly staring in the mirror with other skinny girls since i was 3 has def taken a toll on me. i know deep down iβm skinny, but it like doesnβt register in my brain and itβs so sad. itβs not just in dance, but everywhere girls compare themselves and h@te their bodies and wish that they (contd)

could change their bodies. girls are held up to a different standard, always doing the most to impress other people. and itβs so sad bc this kinda stuff is r@pe culture and thereβs a bunch of other controversial things that i wanna get into rn but rc will probably d!s@ble me soβ¦π₯²
basically Iβm very glad this is being brought to attention on here and I think more people should post ab it!

I do feel the same way as you sometimes. I sometimes feel ashamed of my body because its not picture perfect like the girls on social media. But we have to support and empower the rest of our female families all around the world and stick together to prove that weβre too, are strong. π«Άπ»π«Άπ»

Charley! This is 100% true. This is sooooo good & I LOVE it, Queen! ππππππππΌππΌπ―π€ You're right on, being a woman is HARD. There are ridiculous expectations about pretty much everything about our bodies, minds, & spirits. Whatever we do, there are assumptions & disadvantages. We even get competitive with each other, tear each other down, & shame other women for a million different things to make ourselves look or feel better! We're paid less, promoted less, less likely to be bosses &

...executives, & even when we succeed: we have to be much better & far more flawless than the men in order to keep our success or improve it! Basically, we're forced to try to be always perfect, when that's impossible!! So, I say we realize this reality about being women and reject it! I prefer to support my fellow women instead of compete with them. If they feel differently, then it's their loss. I decide to work on accepting myself as I am & that I am beautiful & unique & interesting. If

...someone can't see that, then they're not worth my precious time. If a boss can't pay me what I'm worth, then it's time to start looking elsewhere. The world may expect perfection, but we don't have to accept this for ourselves. We can support ourselves & each other & gently remind people that we are humans, not robots! All we can do is our best. And support each other lovingly! Maybe the more we do this, the more realistic society can get? LOVE that you provoked this convo, Charleyππ€πππΌ
