"In Memory" Although, throughout milinea, fallen warriors have been honored. The USA "Memorial Day" took root post Civil War. The Civil War was fought because the Confederacy wanted the right to own black human beings and keep them enslaved. The Union, wanted to abolish slavery. The Confederacy lost. The slaves who were actually informed that they were freed, created a day of honoring the fallen soldiers who lost their lives, to free them. At the time, the 2 political parties were reversed.

Republicans and Democrats were opposite of what they are now. Today, Lincoln would be a Democrat. The political parties switched names, essentially, in the early 1900's. In 1971, Memorial Day became a Federal Holiday. It is a time to remember those who have given their lives to protect our democracy and fight the fascists in other countries. Never have we fought on behalf of a dictatorship or autocratic leader.

This is the type of history that is not taught. It is by design that when you represent a group in only one way, people form an opinion and persecute based on that. Many Military of all ethnic backgrounds have fought on behalf of the USA. Women and men both. Homosexuals, heterosexuals and of all religious beliefs have given their lives. We must honor ALL of them, not just those given media favor.

I truly encourage everyone to really learn about history, the good, the bad and the ugly( of which there is an abundance.). Education and factual information helps create brighter futures for all, and when all are equal and treated with love and respect, it has a ripple effect that can create a utopian existence. We must learn from mistakes ... there is no shame in knowing what they were and changing them in the future. It really is so simple ... Love and Gratitude to all!❤❤

@Peyz33 aka Karen 🇺🇸🩶🩶🩶 We certainly haven't learned, globally, that hate gets us no where. I cannot forgive hate. I am willing to listen and try to change the mind. I have a person I must interact with, who has such hate for people he doesn't even know, because he believes lies and rhetoric. He was screaming one day about how he hates all ... pick a group. I tell him all the time he is a "piece of work." It is draining to be around him.

@TracyNWOregon🌲 this is perfectly stated and so important. Thanks for another educational message. I hope you get a reprieve from that horrible person — at least for the day. I used to have a neighbor like that. He didn’t know how blended my family is until they came to visit. I was so glad when he moved. Nice work, as always, I hope you enjoy the sunshine today! ❤️🤍💙

Oh, Tracy , this is a fantastic and well explained of the reality of this beautiful country, some people even today are blocking this trues . You explained in such a simple manner any one can comprehend it. Thank you for your good intentions and being so very genuine. Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day🇺🇸. I’m taking some days off, I don’t seem to have a method to visit all the friends galleries, it takes me so much time, that I’m neglecting other things.

This is so beautiful!! Wow that’s so interesting. I absolutely agree with your point. There’s no reason whatsoever to hate on people. If you can’t say anything nice than don’t say anything at all! ❤️💙
